    Description

    Selling this wonderful used twice 6 inch f/8 reflecting telescope kit from 1975 by A. Jaegers. Jaegers was one of the famous telescope retailers of the time. The previous and original owned purchased these in 1975 and used his telescope only twice, lost interest, and removed all these items from the tube he had and stored them in a closet all this time.
    Included are a very nice 6 inch f/8 Pyrex mirror. The aluminization is very good. There are 2 or 3 very small scratches that will not affect anything. There is a approximately 1/2 inch chip on the back edge of the mirror, looks like from when the mirror was manufactured. It will not hurt anything and will not be visible once in the mirror cell. Also included is the secondary mirror on a stalk, quite sturdy. Looks great! The mirror cell looks like it was never touched. It should fit in a 7 inch ID tube, not included. Also included is a very nice rack and pinion focuser, with the famous Jaeger RED knobs. You will need to purchase eyepieces of standard 1.25 inch diameter.
    All you will need to purchase besides a few more eyepieces will be a 7 inch ID tube 50-56 inches long, and a 6x30 finderscope. I have used 7 inch diameter stove pipe for a tube, purchased from your local hardware store. You will need to purchase or make a mount and cradle for the telescope to sit on. I'll leave that up to you.
    This will make a great beginner telescope that will last a lifetime.
