    DESCRIPTION
You are bidding on the exact Vintage 40MM 1 1/4" Celestron Daiichi Kogaku Telescope Volcano Top Eye Piece that you see in the photos.
We are not experts so please see all of the photos and consider them a part of the description. Please make sure this part will work for what you need it to work for before bidding.
This is a nice and clean Celestron 40MM Kellner 1 1/4" Fully Coated Volcano Top telescope eyepiece. This was made in Japan and is marked with the "K & D" logo which we believe is for the Daiichi Optical Co Ltd. / Dai Ichi Kogaku. From what we can tell this is a pretty hard piece to find and is very well made. This is from the estate of a serious collector who collected cameras, telescopes, binoculars, and anything optical. It has a good weight to it and appears to be nice and clean with minimal wear on the outer metal body from usage on the metal barrel. Not seeing any chips, flea bites, cracks, or mold. As with anything older, it may have some dust from storage. The lettering around the Volcano Top eyepiece is engraved and not just printed on so we believe this to be from the 1970's. The glass appears to be clear, you can see the one photo I took through the lens to a clock hanging on my wall and it is nice and clear. Has the original box but the box shows some wear as you can see in the photos. This Eyepiece is 2 pieces with threading, the top black eye piece lens and the lower barrel lens that is the chrome part. They do go together and come undone as intended, nice and smooth threading and should make this nice and easy to clean and maintain.
I believe, but am not 100% positive that this eyepiece will fit with any vintage Celestron SCT Orange Tube (C14/C11/C8/C5) any many other classic telescopes. Again, I am no expert and I don't use Telescopes so please judge for yourself.

    About Us
We are a family who loves history and treasure hunting!! Our business is a small one run from our house which is smoke free and pet free in the area where items are stored and listed. It is just Myself, My Wife, and our 18 year old daughter who also loves History and Picking. Before we list any item we give it a good once over to check for damage as well as research the item as best as we can to bring you the most information we can give you. We are not experts in anything but have a love for learning all. We work very very hard to keep our customers happy and coming back. If there are any issues all we ask is that you do not open a claim or leave negative feedback, contact us first and give us a chance to make it right for you, then if you are still not satisfied, do what you must (rarely happens but we are human). We pick several times a week so we are always listing new finds so check back often and save us in your favorite sellers. We also love to check out and buy estates, collections, ect. so if you are in the area or close to us, and you fall into this category, please let us know and we will contact you. I am a teacher who teaches technical theatre and my wife helps me run the antiques and collectibles side of things. We try to teach our daughter about honesty, integrity, and responsibility and this is one way we do that so every transaction with us in an honest one! This is what we do and this is what we love. Please feel free to email us and ask us any questions you may have :)
