Description
civil war ironclads, + Yaquinto Games, board game, Civil War, tactical battle. Condition is "Used". Shipped with USPS Priority Mail. This is an old tactical, but really cool game of the first metal armored ships of war, “Ironclads” by Yaquinto.
This company is no longer in business but it did produce some notable games in its’ time in the late 70’s & 80’s and this is one of them.
If you ever played Avalon Hills “Wooden Ships and Iron Men,” this is the American Civil War, 1861 thru 1865, version of that game.
I’ve played it and it’s really cool if you like that type of game.
Ship counters represent one ship and when you fire you are generally firing one gun on the ironclad or sailing ship.
It also includes forts and booms and mortar rafts, etc.
It has a lot of options and types of river terrain.
I rate it as Excellent, great condition and all parts included.
This game is only partially punched; only the counters used in few times I played it being used.
Though it lacks the fancier graphics of todays games the graphics it has are fine and the subject matter is covered pretty well including forts and so forth.
The rule book is in great condition as is the whole game.
I take care of my games.
But it is highlighted which I’ve included pictures of so you will know what you’re purchasing.
The highlighting has held up well and is not a problem to read.
It might be the same info you would highlight.
There are six “maps” of river areas with lands/navigational masses highlighted that affect navigation and targeting. I remember one battle where I lost engine power and began drifting with concerns of running aground.
It was a hoot!
The box is in good shape though one corner had become torn.
I repaired it "back when" with asking tape which is now dried out and flaking off.
I’m leaving it alone so the purchaser can apply the repair of their choice.
The other corners I reinforced on the inside as a “just in case” saving the box which which has worked.
It includes a storage tray for the counters as supplied by Yaquinto. Because of the box corner and the aging of the game it’s not in mint condition but it is in good to great condition for a game of its era.
I included a number of pics so you can see how well it’s been kept.
There are 10 pages of basic rules and four of Advanced rules for a more realistic approach.
I’m also selling its brother, the Ironclads Expansion.
If you were to buy both I will combine shipping.
