    Description

    PLEASE READ:
    The Spengler circuit boards
    are NOT included
    in this upgrade parts kit!
    Installation instructions:
    https://www.ghostlab42.com/img/Spengler/SpenglerFix_v1p1.pdf
Only for the Spengler Link V1.4 and earlier.  The Spengler Links V1.5 and greater do not need this fix.
Not for any of the Spengler Keep Alive boards (they do not use the audio output, so this fix is not needed)
If you want to source or have your own parts rather than waiting for this kit, here is what you need for the fixes:
A: one 47uF capacitor, rated at 10V or more. A ceramic MLCC does not care about orientation, but an electrolytic does.  If you use an electrolytic capacitor (not what comes with this kit), the short lead (negative lead) needs to go in the middle hole.
B: one 500 to 800 ohm resistor.  This kit comes with a 750 ohm, but lower values will increase the frequency of the switching regulator and use more current from the battery.
C: one 1.4K to 1.7K resistor.  This kit comes with a 1.57k Ohm resistor.
This is a kit to fix two issues with the first generation of the Spengler Link and Spengler Sound Board combination.
There are two main issues that may occur when the boards are combined for normal use:
    1) A high frequency whine can be heard from the speaker when the wand is off and the volume is near the maximum.
    2) When the volume level of the Spengler Sound Board is above about 1/2 volume, a hissing sound occurs.  Depending on the boards this can be subtle or very obnoxious.  In the worst cases a resistor on the sound board (R2, near the center edge of the board on the side that has the speaker connector and the audio input jack) can get hot and possibly smoke.
This kit only contains three parts, two for the Spengler Sound board and one for the Spengler Link board, that need to be added to fix or significantly reduce the issues.  Both parts need to be soldered, but since the Spengler Link already requires soldering this should not be a
    deterrent
    for installing these parts!
The parts will be mailed in an envelope, so no tracking will be available.
I do not have a good way to just mail them out to existing customers, so that is why you must purchase using this listing here from eBay.
eBay does have a minimum allowed price of 99 cents, so that is what I used.
