This prop does not separate into halves.  It is fused, probably because of an internal break.
See pictures, It Looks pretty good for those looking for a non-splitting model on the cheap.

Item Information and Terms
This is
Metallic Gold Leaf Finish over a Resin body. M
ade from my designs, it measures about 240mm x 210mm x 41mm (9.44"x 8.27" x 1.61").
It is similarly sized to the prop that was on display at Hollywood Studios in Orlando and consistently sized with the on-screen props as seen in the film.
They made multiple versions and sizes for the production (according the extra features) and multiple versions for promotions and theme park displays.
The white inlays were made from a pearlescent white material with black backing.  The compass assembly removes similar to the movie prop. There are inscriptio
ns and glyphs on the top, corners, even the sides and glyph rings on the back.
It is a static prop and does not have clock-movement hardware, electronics of any kind but y
ou can reposition the hands manually and the center compass can be installed or left out depending on which state you'd like to display the Dial.
I slowed down making these but with the 1 year anniversary of the film around the corner I made a few more for those that are interested in one from my design and build process.  That said, I won't be making many more from this design.   There will be a premium model available in the future, though.
