  • Condition: Mint condition verified by black light exam and exam under lighted magnification. A scattering of factory glaze pops along the ribcage on the non-viewing side. Cluster of minute factory glaze bubbles on both ear tips (too small to photograph) results in a rough feel, but no damage.     Description

    A lovely porcelain figurine of a young hippo by Nymphenburg (Germany). Fully hallmarked with the well known impressed Nymphenburg shield and green stamped hallmark. Artist signed in the mold, Goehring (August Goehring). This figurine excels in all areas, from the soft and subtle decoration to the realistic modeling. The eyes of the hippopotamus have been left open and present a nice depth to the expression. Please look at the photos carefully so you can appreciate the absolutely quality of this figurine.
